My family and friends usually get together whenever there is a major sporting event on TV. Yesterday was no exception. The difference was there were three events for us to watch. First, Stanley Cup Finals featuring the “local” team, the Los Angeles Kings. Then we switched back and forth from hockey to basketball (Boston Celtics and Miami Heat). But, the featured event of the night was the Pacaquio and Bradley fight. (Yeah, yeah. Let’s not discuss who won.) So, as you can maybe imagine, our group got together late afternoon — and partied way into the evening. We always serve food and there is plenty of drinks to go around. But, yesterday, my brother made something different for our group to “drink.” He made jello shots. He said since the Pac-Man fight was held at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas, he was inspired to make the jello shots that they make at “Fat Tuesday,” located downstairs at the MGM. I can tell you that the shots went down very easily. And, they are easy to make and great at parties! You can use any flavor of jello you like. Same thing goes for the alcohol. We had strawberry-flavored jello. The first batch made with rum. The second batch made with soju.
Ingredients
- 1 3 oz. package of strawberry jello
- 1 cup boiling hot water
- 1 cup Bacardi rum
Directions
Mix hot water and jello. Add rum. Pour into shot cups. Place in refrigerator until jello is set. Serve.
